SUCCULENTS & CACTUS

Succulents & cacti are one of our favorites here. And it's because they're pretty low-maintenance and when you start collecting house plants, you don't have time to baby every single plant you own and water them all the time. Plus, the variety of cactus alone is endless! There's so many to choose from, some that produce whispery like hair and some that turn purple in the sun and produce fruit. And don't get us started on 'String of' plants .. string of pearls is definitely one of our best sellers due to their tiny pea shaped leaves.

how do you determine what's for a beginner?

I ALWAYS KILL MY SUCCULENTS, WHY?!

We hear this question all the time and it's impossible to answer with 100% certainty but the two most common reasons are over-watering and not enough sun.

Succulents don't need a lot of water (think 1 time every two weeks in summer if that) and most people who want plants they can love think they're too dry so they give them a drink. They rot pretty quickly. Not getting enough sun is another way they die. Succulents and cactus need to be in a east or south facing window to survive indoors. If you don't have enough light, we recommend a full-spectrum grow light to help keep them happy or to go with another lower light plant option.
